In 2017 Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee released Despacito and it became the most streamed single in just six months. The mix of reggaeton with pop music has not only brought interest back to the style, but also to Latin music all over the world. The Billboard Top 100 featured two songs that were Spanish most of the time, and 4 more songs in the year the year 2016. In the height of Despacito's commercial success in 2017 19 songs mostly in Spanish reached into the Top 100. It climbed to 41 in 2020. Justin Bieber's remix in two languages Despacito was released in 2017. After that, well-known artists started collaborating with reggaeton performers. Drake collaborated with Bad Bunny on MIA (2018) in addition to Madonna collaborated with Maluma on Medellin. In the year 2020, a handful of reggaeton stars were complaining about its inclination towards mainstream. But a fresh generation, specifically Rauw Alejandro was determined to continue the evolution of reggaeton. It often featured elements from other genres and electronic dance.
